Hosted at the new Bristol Digital Futures Institute, this talk was the keynote at day 2 of the Ecocentric AI summer school.
It was a day dedicated to exploring the environmental impacts of AI. The audience were mostly academics, or all levels, with an interest in the topic. Although the range of expertise in the room ranged from total newbies to experts (later in the day two of the audience were off to an event launching their own books on this topic!).
I was delighted to represent our work at Green Web Foundation, and speak alongside May Stevens from Friends of the Earth England and Loup Cellard, an academic studying the potential for heat loss recovery from data centres at l’Université Paris-Saclay.
